Meet Our Summer Team!
As we continue to go out into the community to share the energy savings experience, we thought we’d share some of our own personal stories, too, by introducing you to our summer team members, Kelly, Pedro, and Kim. Each joined the All In Energy team this summer to help bring energy efficiency programs to Boston communities and begin to build a platform to diversify the clean energy workforce. Their stories are below, but they are only part of the bigger picture, so comment below to share your stories or tell us about your home energy savings with the hashtag #Codman$aves! We would love to get to know you better, too. (To hear from our co-founders click here)
Kelly:
I am originally from New Hampshire, home of the trees and mountains, where I have trekked through the White Mountains on seven separate occurrences. I believe that this is where my passion for sustaining the environment originated from and going through this internship has allowed me to act on my social interest. All in Energy not only tries to alleviate some of the environmental issues but also gives back to amazing communities who are underserved by these programs. This summer is only the start of my initiatives to make a positive impact on the world. However, first, I need to graduate. I am currently attending Bentley University as a rising Junior working towards a B.S. towards Economics and Finance with a focus on Global Perspectives. Other than that, I love bringing my three-year old American Eskimo Dog to these hikes with me! ᵔᴥᵔ

Pedro:
I am a 29 year old Latin American student from Mexico City who is currently pursuing the Social Impact MBA at Boston University. I have a background in Civil Engineering that provided me with the opportunity to work in construction project management from which I later transferred to finance at Citibank. I have previously lived in the United States for a period of seven years. During that time, I got really involved with volunteering and practiced a variety of sports. I have a strong inclination for the work of social impact, community development, and community involvement, and I hope to be able to grow professionally in that sector. All In Energy gave me a chance to be a part of the launch of an initiative to drive inclusiveness in a clean energy economy to underserved communities. This is important to me because there normally are barriers of adoption in the sector that, in surpassing them, can turn energy efficiency into a virtuous cycle that brings value to more communities, households, residents and individuals.

Kim:
Born and raised in and around Boston, I am excited to work for a startup that I believe could lend great positive impact to the community. The more I learn, both at school and at internships like this one, the more I believe that it is important to give back to those that help support you as you grow. All In Energy embodies an organization that strives to better the community, and does so in a unique way aimed toward specific populations (historically that speak a language other than English, are low to middle income, and are of color) that are typically underserved. For this reason, and because I am passionate about mitigating climate change, All In Energy seemed like a perfect way to give back to the community while also serving as great way to gain experience at the beginning of my career. A little more about me: I am a student at Brandeis University and will be a rising junior this fall. I spend most of my free time adventuring with friends (kayaking, hiking, etc.), trying the yummiest of foods and coffee, and taking pictures with my old film camera. Oh! And the blogs so far are written by yours truly, too :)
